The Winter

W ith over 70km's of piste and endless off-piste trails, Bansko can accommodate both the beginner and the advanced skier and snowboarder alike.  100% of these pistes are covered by snow cannons for the 2008-09 season, from the highest point at 2560m down to the lowest point at 1000m.  And the fun doesn't stop here.  With several spa hotels, an outdoor ice skating rink and the old town of Bansko with its traditional Mehana's (Taverns), the day has just begun!

The Summer

W orld Heritage and National Park land covers most of the mountainous area above Dobrinishte.  It is the starting point for some of the most accessible hiking, mountain climbing, biking and lake fishing in Europe.  The Chair lift runs throughout the summer and there are a series of huts for over-night stays.

Since joining the EU Bulgaria has put itself on the international map with brand new resorts like Bansko attracting World class ski events.  All of the equipment is new, the skiing is excellent and all for a fraction of the price of other European ski resorts.  Low cost airlines including Easyjet and Wizzair are now flying to Sofia, from Manchester and London.  We suggest you give it a try.  You might be surprised!
